The Light Infantry Annual Reunion
Shrewsbury
The reunion weekend is laid on by the Light Infantry Committee and is organised by the Reunion Coordinator and his team, the weekend needs the full support of ALL former Light Infantrymen and is a very popular annual event with attendances being anything between 1600 to 2600 on the day.
The application form comes out around late February and a copy of the form will be added to this web page for those that do not have it sent to them. All the details required are on the form and everything must go through the Shrewsbury office, around mid to late May the tickets will be posted to you.
Due to increasing costs and a reunion fund that is ever decreasing a ticket charge has now been introduced to help secure it's long term future, which we should all get behind.
Contact details for the Shrewsbury reunion are further down on this page.
Saturday 18th June 2022
Everyone must purchase a £10 ticket to gain entry into the reunion on the Saturday and the application form is now available for download underneath this message.
Please ensure that you read and complete the form fully before posting to the address at the top of it and all applications must include a STAMPED ADDRESSED ENVELOPE so that your tickets can be posted to you.
Official Light Infantry Annual Reunion Website

Like every other professional club in the world, Shrewsbury Town FC is a business, as such they need to make profits from their endeavours in order to remain a going concern. They have never charged the Reunion for the use of their facilities, despite the belief of some.
They hire the bar that they use for the reunion at a cost of £2,000, and of course they have to pay their staff (a considerable number) a decent wage for their efforts. These costs have to be paid from the revenue they make from selling beer and food before they can show any profit. This profit is being eroded by a small, but selfish minority, who choose to save a few personal pennies by bringing in refreshments from an outside source.
I have been informed by the Club Chairman that if their profit does not relate to the amount of effort that is expended in running their side of the Reunion, they will have no option but to start charging, alternatively the worst case would be denying the use of the facilities to the Reunion completely! The hire of the car park alone, (and we have it for five days) would amount to £7,800. This would be a huge drain on our meagre resources.
So, if you want your Reunion to continue into the future, please demonstrate a supportive and responsible attitude and don’t bring in your own refreshments but purchase those provided by the stadium staff.
